I’m Ashling, a child emotional wellbeing educator, author, and parent.
But more importantly, I’m someone who’s helped hundreds of overwhelmed parents feel calmer and confident when their child struggles with big feelings.
I’ve worked with parents who, like you, felt overwhelmed, unsure what their child’s behaviour meant, and worried they might be missing something important.
What I kept seeing was this:
Behaviour is rarely random: it always means something.
It's a form of communication.
My work focuses on helping parents understand what’s happening underneath - so responses feel calmer, clearer, and more confident.
I don’t believe in blame.
I believe in understanding. Because when we understand what a child’s nervous system is trying to say, everything changes.

It started with noticing patterns in my own children.

Over time, I realised something important:
Children are rarely “too much.”
They are often responding to too much.
Through writing, teaching, and supporting families,
my focus has stayed the same
Helping children understand that their reactions make sense.
And helping parents feel more confident responding to them.
Because when a child feels understood,
everything changes.
